Rescue Me is a fun little book. While it might not take the reader to lands of fantasy or magical kingdoms it transports the reader into the world of a young boy going through his share of troubles due to his parents divorcing and he and his mother moving to Ohio.

Rescue Me has lots of twists and turns. A good dose of suspense and mystery, a number of surprises, and interesting characters and dialog. It isn't sappy or overly sad. It becomes very uplifting by the time we reach the end, and this is a pretty good effort for a first time writer. I liked it. I don't think anyone buying it will be disappointed. I hope the author turns this into a series.

This is the book parents and kids should read and discuss BEFORE they decide to get a first dog. It offers insight into life with a dog in an entertaining and believable story...much more effective than a parent talking about the responsibilities and expenses that come with a dog. It just might prevent some "bad adoptions" from happening.

On the other side, Rescue Me shows the love that dogs bring into a home. It demonstrates how a child's care and devotion to a dog can help him or her overcome problems and blossom in all areas of life.

Rescue Me is about a formerly abused dog who is rescued and adopted. While the story is fiction, the dog is real, and she represents thousands of other dogs who are waiting in shelters for someone to love.

On top of all that, its a darn good story.
