The amount of Oppa Gangnam Style parody videos in Singapore is too damn high!

As you guys all know by now what is 'Oppa Gangnam Style' or have known who ‘Psy’ is, right? Because I'm not gonna be explaining here on my blog about the biography of 'Psy' and what's the music video is all about. I ain't got time.

So I'm going to write my opinions about some of the top few videos of Oppa Gangnam Style (Parody) Singapore version. I've come to realize, there are lot of parody version of Oppa Gangnam Style. A LOT. I mean, is it like some kind of a trend or something? Is it a game? Well, to me, it is getting annoying. Seriously.

Let's start with the most popular video of the parody in Singapore.

1) Singaporean Style (Gangnam Style Parody) done by Dee Kosh, a Philippines-born Singaporean YouTube Celebrity, and also it featured other Singaporean YouTube 'celebrities' that are not worth mentioning here. Video Description: "Hope that you'll like our parody. It wasn't that good but we had a lot of fun filming it with our crew and everyone who was involved."

My opinion: If you like to see a 20+ year old dude with an unfit body wearing a tank top and doing a rendition of Nicki Minaj 'Starships', then feel free to like this video. The only thing I like about this video or song is the lyrics. THE ONLY PARODY THAT HAS ITS OWN ORIGINALITY AND IT ALSO RELATES TO SINGAPORE. That's why it is called Singaporean Style.

But what I hate about this video is some part of the video doesn't really match with the lyrics. For instance, there's a part where the songs is talking about SMRT, but the video shows Dee Kosh drinking water in a suit or when the lyrics are talking about the angmoh, "we have an ang-moh from the England", and it cuts to the scene where there's this girl drinks some water. The girl doesn't even look like an Angmoh. I don't get it. This video makes me confused. By the way, the girl's face 'CMI' (Cannot-Make-It).

2) PSY - Gangnam Style (Official Rap Remix by Tzire) done by TheSingaporeanRapper a.k.a 'Tzire'. Video description: Special thanks to every single person who helped me out with the production of this video! Their links can all found below.

My opinion: I just hate Tzire. Hate him with all my guts. Don't get me wrong, he raps pretty good. (He is actually better than some Singaporean rapper *cough* Shigga Shay *cough..) but I just hate him. His rendition of the Oppa Gangnam style is nonsensical. The lyrics, the video is all damn fucked up. There's a point of the video that you just want to punch his face. (I'm a hater, alright?) His lyrics got side-tracked all the time. I mean seriously, since when does Emma Watson from Harry Potter has got to do with Oppa Gangnam Style. Last time I checked, she's got nothing to do with it and so what if you hate playing football but you like to play soccer. Reality check, both words meant the same. It's time for you to learn some literature because all of your lyrics are fucked up. It's nonsensical. Plus, it's not funny.

There are some other videos of the parody but I just wouldn't want to waste my time writing about it. It's not worth my time. I just want to say that enough of Oppa Gangnam Style parody. It's time to move on. Don't waste your time doing parody of a video that has like thousands of parodies. It's time to move on Singapore. Oppa Gangnam style is not cool anymore, even though the song is quite addictive. Let's move on and focus on important issue, like Global Warming, perhaps?

Lucy Spraggan's who?

There's this video that I saw on Youtube recently that I really, really like. This girl by the name of Lucy Spraggan went to audition for The X-Factor UK 2012. Well at first I thought she was some cockney, well she said she's from Sheffield, who will be performing some utterly ridiculous stuff just to get views from Youtube.

Like any other people, she started off by saying her name, and well, she said she was nervous. She's also started to humor the audience by saying how she hates her job and that her job was to annoy people off the streets. You will find out when you watched the video. She then said she that she will be singing her own song and will be playing her own guitar while singing her song. I mean, I'm thinking, this could be another 'Good/Mediocre Singer'. But she wasn't mediocre at all. Her song that she came up with was so original and creative and well, its damn well funny! Her song is about how someone will be ranting the next day, after a long Saturday night drinking. It's funny because it relates me.

Video's description: Lucy bonkers about booze and likes to wax lyrical about going out on the lash. Watch as Lucy sings a comical ditty she wrote herself about the pitfalls of partying -- Shock! Horror! Mel B actually LOVED it.

Lyrics:
Last night I told you I loved you, woke up blamed it on the vodka
I generally thought I was dying and I could see that smile you were hiding
Last night I told you I need you, that's the last time I drink tequila
Super lemon and his physic salt kit, I start crying and verbally assaulting
Last night I asked you to marry me, that's when I remembered the brandy
I wake up and claim I didn't say it, screwed if I ever wake up in Vegas

Wish I could stop and I'm not joking
Drinking too much and socially smoking
Wish I could stop an start to behave and then wake up in the morning and never miss a day again

Last night I called you a loser, I think that was after flaming sambuca
I shouted at you 'do me a favor' and that's when I fell off the pavement

Wish I could stop and I'm not joking
Drinking too much and socially smoking
Wish I could stop an start to behave and then wake up in the morning and never miss a day again

Cause I'd love to learn when to shut my mouth
Wake up in the morning and be in my own house
Do one last shot and know when to stop
No more photo's on facebook of me doing the robot
No when to leave and when to lock my front door
Stop waking up in cheese and in a bed full of people
Sitting in a cupboard with my weird bestfriend
But I'm only young so I'm not gonna pretend I

Wish I could stop cause I'm not joking
I love drinking too much and socially smoking
Don't wanna stop or learn to behave, Amen
And hey I just missed another day again

Diner and blank? (Diner en blank flash-mob dinner)

If you guys haven't read the article about the controversy that has erupted over a dining event, I highly suggest you guys to read the article before reading this blog post. I want you guys to know what I am talking about regarding the article. So please, read that article so you will understand what actually this blog post about.

For those of you guys who want the link to that article, here it is. http://sg.news.yahoo.com/controversy-erupts-over-dining-event-coming-to-s%E2%80%99pore.html

So basically, there is this event called something like 'Diner En Blank Flash-Mob Dinner' that is coming to Singapore. This event is somewhat prestigious and only 'invited people' are welcome to that event. Well, it didn't bother me as much because I really wouldn't mind not getting an opportunity or a chance to go to this lame-ass event. I mean, really, it's just a picnic right? So it didn't bother to me at first, until a blogger by the named of Daniel Ang sparks a controversy over the event with a post last week. This dude, Daniel Ang is a food blogger, so basically he writes stuff about food and beverages on his blog. He got invited to this event and, well, like all Singaporeans, he was pretty much excited about this event. It is a 'prestigious event' right? So the issue blazed after Ang wrote in a post on his blog on Friday that he had been asked to remove a post recommending some local food that guests could bring to Diner en Blanc and what food did he recommend that cause this so called 'issue'?

The foods that he recommended the  guests to bring was a 12 Singapore-style white food, namely: tau hway, teochew pau, cheese raisin buns, xiao long bao, chee chiong fun, fishballs, Hainanese chicken rice, white bee hoon, chwee kueh, kueh tu tu, soon kueh and popiah. (The foods are white because it matches with the theme. lol)

These foods are not that bad, right? Tell that to the event manager who refers these foods as 'junk food'. I don't know whether to laugh or to be really offended. Most people think that the event manager was perhaps a French, but I am really certain that not only the event management but the whole organizers that creates this event is in fact 'SINGAPOREANS' or I like to call these people SINGAPOREAN on the outside, but 'step-angmoh' on the inside. You've got to be kidding me, right?

Diner en Blanc Facebook Page

The controversy got worst when the organizers of the event told Ang to remove the post regarding his recommendation of foods to bring and then UN-INVITE him. Ouch. Even Hitler would say "Even a guy like me, that's cold...” This event was  has taken place at Paris, Lyon, Amsterdam, Munich, Zürich, Berlin, Montreal, New York, and now Singapore, which also will be the first ever country to experience a 'no-local' food at the event. Singapore likes to be the first at everything, right? lol.

These people deserve to get a slap on their face. Why on earth does this food considered to be 'junk food'. Even if it is, what's wrong with bringing that food to the event? The event is held in Singapore, right? The local organizers must be really ignorant and selfish. They would be like "ouhh, tahuey? eeww. That’s disgusting." Well, screw you then. Why don't you take any French cuisine and stick it up at your ASS. I'm not hating the French people because we all know what they are capable of *clears throat*.

The "locals" who are organizing this event need to take a step back and realize that the French won't give a damn about them or giving any respect nor attention. French people are pretentious and racist pricks and they look down on everyone who is not them.
